It was a mystery that the sedan version was the first one to appear without a convertible version. Well that mistake, so to say, has certainly been fixed as now we have the opportunity to experience the thing we have always wanted to try out.

Although, the design was simple to make it was not a primary choice from the designers of Toyota. Perhaps it was an overlooked thing on their part or a decision to go somewhere else with the Supra, but we might call it an experiment. Well the exterior of the 2016 Toyota Supra Convertible has not been drastically changed based on its sedan version. It is basically a similar design with some alterations in order to make it a convertible.

Some would say that it was as easy as adding a frame above the windshield, flattening out the roof section and eliminating the entire center roof section. Simple, as it sounds this was not the only change that the outside of the Supra Convertible had to go through.

Comparing it with the FT1-concept, the exterior has been upgraded somewhat. The front lights and the back lights have been fitted with LED technology. Interestingly enough is the idea that the front splitter now includes a more Formula 1 like design which really gives this car its edge. What critics agree is that this car takes much after the Lexus LFA model and Toyota is not the one to deny this account.

All in all, the car has some pretty interesting characteristics and has been design in accordance with the wishes of the crowd perhaps. The convertible version of the 2016 Supra from Toyota will certainly be one of the most popular cars of the year.

Interior

About the inside of the 2016 Toyota Supra Convertible, there aren’t much changes opposite to its sedan version. Actually there were only a few adjustments made which have enabled he convertible to be a bit more stylish and comfortable that the previous vehicle.

Although one drastic change is of course the removal of the back seats from the convertible version. You can’t have a convertible with too many seats. And this is why the back part of the Toyota Supra has been exchanged with a wind deflector instead.

This will actually stabilize the car and enable it to reach greater speeds than before. but will limit it to a two seater instead of a four passenger one, which may only cause it to loose advantage in an otherwise four seat competition.

Also the comfort levels have been enhanced and the seats inside feature a similar design but with the use of some new and more comfortable materials. Nevertheless, the car still looks great inside and follows suite after its competitors in a great way.

Engine of 2016 Toyota Supra Convertible

As for the engine of the new 2016 Supra Convertible, we are still not sure what is going to happen under the hood of the vehicle. There are many speculations and a number of estimations, but no real answer up till now. The thing we do know is that Toyota is going to make it a bit more fuel productive which is somewhat of a conceivable step for the Supra to go.
