2016 Lexus GS F

Lexus has started introducing the F badge for its vehicle from 2008, and till now cars such as IS F and RC F coupe were the ones that carried the F brand proudly. But of 2016 Lexus has decided to award the F badge to yet another vehicle which is the GS. This is something we are most excited about and feel that the GS needed to get the F trim a long time ago. The time is finally now and we welcome the release do the Lexus GS F.

On first look the Lexus GS is based on the GS 350 F Sports and is ranked just in the middle of the rear wheel base sedan lineup by Lexus, between the IS and the LS models. But what characterizes the GS F model is a larger engine, revised suspension, stiffened chassis and new differentials. The release date is kept a mystery for now and while the price has already been mentioned at its unveiling at the Detroit Auto Show this year.

The Lexus GS F promises great excitement and extreme performance and is a very good addition to the Lexus lineup. He GS was already a good car and enhancing it with the F badge is the best way to go. Not just aesthetically wise, as you can see from the more aggressive look of the car provided in the pictures, but in terms of its performance as well. Every review states that this car has what it takes to make it and our review certainly agrees with. We rarely get excited by a release but this one we have to say that we cannot wait to testing.

 

2016 Lexus GS F exterior

The F badge really gives finesse to the GS vehicle. Lexus has done quite a good job by fitting the GS F vehicle with some very beautiful and very nice exterior features. The design of the outside is not just beautiful but aggressive as well and immediately states what the car is all about. It is largely based on the RC F vehicle but has some unique changes and design features that are characteristic for only this vehicle. The front part has a large spindle grille with mesh added and is lined up to fit a very nice carbon-fiber lip at the bottom. The large opening at the front is there to replace the fog lights, which have been excluded this time, and the hole is used to cool down the brakes as well.

The inclusion of sharp and angular LED running lamps which are placed quite low add to the aggressiveness of the car the most and the design of the headlights with three units in the body is a welcomed addition to the entire concept. At the back an angry rear bumper with quad exhausts further continues the muscular look. Wider fenders, side skirts, some alloy wheels and you get the most noticeable changes for the new Lexus GS F automobile. The final inclusion is a carbon fiber lip spoiler matted on the trunk darker taillights.

 

Interior

The interior of the Lexus GS F screams go faster. It presents a sporty interior look with great design characteristics and some wonderful additions to the overall car’s look. The comfort levels are enhanced and the atmosphere inside is not just as by enjoying a fast paste ride but also a comfortable one as well. The seats have been designed to have some line stitching and fit well within the entire concept, particularly when we mention that fine leather is sure to make the drivers feel much welcomed and better. The two-tone color scheme is perfect and interesting as well. You may notice the F letter embroidery all around the car as well, with the most noticeable ones fixed in the headrest.

The dash and control cluster looks even better. Not only has it been designed and laid very nicely and with some proportional and useful displays, it also looks pretty cool as well. The wood trim on the dash has been excluded and exchanged with a carbon fiber one that actually goes far better with the aggressive and fast paste design that the 2016 model has. The steering wheel is quite thicker and far better to use than the previous one. We are still not filled in completely on the technology department and will get the info about when the release date gets nearer, but it is more than possible that the car will have heating and cooling functions.

 

Engine

Making a sports car a sports car is the thing what is inside the hood, and inside this one is a stellar deal that will power the Lexus GS F to space and back. The 5.0-liter, V-8 engine is a great choice as it is able to produce 467 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque. It exclusively comes combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission system. The new Torque Vectoring Differential that Lexus, previously used in the RC F car, will be a part of the powertrain here as well. Top speed is ranked, as it has been unofficially announced, at 175 mph, while it can reach 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.

 

Release date and price

The official release date has not yet been disclosed but we are expecting it to hit the stands at least at the end of the year. The price has been unofficially ranked at 75.000 US dollars.
