2015 Lexus LX

Lexus has unveiled its Lexus LX SUV vehicle for the model year of 2015. This is a traditional kind bulky and rugged truck with very strong capabilities and bad intentions when it comes to getting over obstacles. It can cross any path and can have many different utility uses. A vehicle that really packs a punch, it is more intended of hauling or towing purposes than it is for family use but also has various other perks at its disposal.

What has been updated for the new model year for the LX are its heavy duty off road capabilities, which are not stronger than ever, and its interior comfort, in order to provide a better feel while driving through those kinds of terrains. But what all of this there is one downfall that can affect the overall picture, and that is the fuel economy. The car will be a bit restricted when it comes to spending fuel but it is something to be expected when you see how much its capabilities and great power are.

The design has not changed that much, but as you can witness from the pictures and the provided photos of the inside and out, the car looks pretty good. Its rugged features go well with its personality and promise what it is to be expected out of the vehicle. The release date has been set for this car to come out soon but we are not sure when.

 

2015 Lexus LX exterior

The Lexus LX is all man, or in this case truck. It is a massive, rugged and bulky truck and shares some characteristics with its Land Cruiser cousin. If we compare it to the other vehicles in the Lexus lineup you would not come with many similarities as the LX has been designed almost as a separate vehicle or rather that it is manufactured by a different firm. The thing that links it to the Lexus design categories is the spindle grill which is something like a trademark for Lexus vehicles. This actually suits the car good and adds to the entire theme of ruggedness that the truck has going of it.

We can compare the LX with the Land Cruiser but the different is that the LX has some sporty features which do not make it a completely clean truck in design. It has some crossover characteristics but we are not sure if this works well for the car. Yes, we agree and are totally into the massive features and the masculinity of the car but find the sporty things that are added maybe a bit too much. We feel that the LX should remain a traditional truck and stay true to its roots.

 

Interior

On the inside of the Lexus LX it gets much more better. For the designer 2015 year there has been a great update on the inside of the vehicle. As the car is meant to maneuver in different terrains and needs to go through unfriendly environments, it has to enhance its inside comfort. The luxurious and comfy materials are what do the trick at first. It is a great way to update the car and give the fans what they want at the same time. The enhanced luxury combines well with a very functional cabin.

The design of the control panel is placed a bit upright and has fine details to enhance both the look and the usefulness as well. With soft contours, matte black trim and a great layout give the LX extra points for trying. Some more about the materials inside, you will be experiencing the use of high-end perforated leather and wonderful veneers with mahogany paneling, dark toned metallic trim and twinned with “cashmere” leather. The only thing that does not work is the interior spacing in the back. Although the car is fitted for seven people they will have a hard time to fit all together at the back.

Engine

Under the hood is where it gets interesting. This time the LX will share the engine with the Toyota Land Cruiser as they will both be using 383-hp 5.7-liter V-8 engine. Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system it combines to provide a very useful and reliable powertrain for the 2015 LX. Although it can perform on the streets, it size and heavy feel does not make it that much comfortable to maneuver there. But the off reading characteristics have been enhanced to the max on the other hand. Just the towing capacity is rated at 7.000 pounds. The fuel specs are the worse part of the whole concept, it EPA ratings come to at 12/17 mpg and this is the only powertrain the vehicle is going to be released with.

Price and release date

As we are still waiting for the actual release date to be confirmed, we shall have to end this review without confirming this information.
