2015 Lexus NX 200t

The 2015 Lexus NX is a luxury SUV that continues the NX brand. It is a comfy and restyled version of its previous model that promises to take a step forward in design and particularly in performance. The inclusion of a new engine is something that attracts the most attention here and is the biggest news that relates to the NX 200t vehicle. But the updates in design are also there to support the entire new concept of the car.

The inside and outside of the car are all Lexus while they also claim that the exterior has been loosely based on Toyota 4Runner vehicle. 2015 Lexus NX 200t exterior

The fist announcements of the release of the new Lexus NX immediately started us thinking that the brand was going to have a subcompact luxury SUV look and that it was supposed to compete with other giants from this field. Yet when the first spy photos came out we immediately saw that we were dealing with something completely different. So the NX will now have as a competition to vehicles such asX3/Q5/GLK which are going to be its larger siblings, as the NX still falls a bit shorter in its lengths. But the completely new updated design gives us a combination of a new spindle grille with a standard four bar design that matches well with the thin lights and pinched look of the previous NX vehicle. This gives us an angry sporty like design to the front part of the NX.

Although this is a standard or base design of the NX, the sports F version has a darker tone to it and even a sinister look to it. It may be a little bit too over the top with the darkness there so the base version has a really cool and appropriate look and we agree that it might sell more opposed to the F version, but people have different tastes and there is going to be a market for the F one as well. The added are also the new 17-inhc alloy wheels that come as a standard, while the F sports version and other trims come with optional other sets of wheels.

 

Interior

The interior of the Lexus NX 200t has a new interior design. It combines the styling from the Camry and ES version of Lexus and makes something new happening in the NX. The thing that was mostly borrowed were the materials that are used in this one and how they are stylistically incorporated into the overall interior of the NX. The stitched leather synthetic materials cover dashboard section, the center console and parts of doors as well. There are also some faux-metal plastic trims added to the center console also, but all of this actually give the 2015 NX a sharp overall look.

The Lexus fake leather is used on the inside, but it is convincing enough and comfy as well. There is also the option of including cowhide, but at a price. The fixed seating arraignment is good particularly when we notice that the reclining rear seats offer much more legroom and higher seat positioning. Some rims will have the optional one touch power folding seats to offer at its disposal. The one drawback that we can notice is that there is no cargo space. If you plan to take this car on the road and carry lots of stuff with you, you will be disappointed on how little you can actually pack inside.

 

Engine

Some say that the performance of the Lexus NX 200t is a lot similar to the NX 300h hybrid version but it is essentially a completely new and different vehicle that the this one. The inclusion of 2.0 liter turbo petrol really makes a whole lot of difference and enables the vehicle to shine and show off its potential. The added Air-to-liquid intercooler, high-pressure direct injection with variable wastegate are some key features that the car has. The numbers state that it can reach 175kW/350Nm. The 2WD version can speed up to 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds while the 4WD version can do that in 9.2 seconds.

 

Price and release date

The car is going to be officially released this December when you will get to see the Lexus NX 200t in action. This is an anticipated event so there is sure that there are going to be a lot of iterated parties during the time close to the release date. As for the price, it is lesser than the previous year as some cut backs amounted to a cheaper price. The base MSRP is around 40.000 dollars but the overall pricing is estimated at base 39.608 dollars.
